TOOLBOX FEATURE: Creating a Website
It's not just for geeks anymore

Building a website for your artwork may seem like a daunting or expensive proposition, but it need not be; many might be surprised to find that simply with a personal computer and email account through a standard provider like AOL or Earthlink, they already have the ability to set up a suitable website.

A website is a set of related web pages, each of which exists as a file or a set of files on a server, a computer that stores files that can be accessed by users of web browsers like Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape. Pages are typically assembled from a main text file that is a set of instructions, including references to any images used, which are themselves separate files.
